Introduction to the ancient Wudang Mountain Scenic Spot

The ancient Wudang Mountain scenic spot is located in the junction of Shanxi, Hebei, Shandong and Henan provinces, 70 kilometers northwest of Handan City, in the living water town of Wu'an city. With a total area of more than 20 square kilometers, the scenic spot is commonly known as "Laoye Mountain" by local people. In 2005, it was rated as "National Forest Park" and "National Geological Park". The landform of the whole scenic spot is complex and peculiar, which is formed by red quartz sandstone. After Yanshan movement and Himalayan movement, Taihang Mountain is further uplifted. After many years of weathering and denudation, the landform landscape and pictographic mountain of red cliff are formed. For example: taijizhang, teapot mountain, Lu Xufeng and other landscapes. A Tang Dynasty monument on the top of the mountain records that this is the ancient Wudang Mountain, which is considered by experts to be the famous North Wudang Mountain sought by the domestic Taoist circles. Its history is earlier than other Wudang Mountains. There are two famous Wudang Mountains in China, one in Shiyan, Hubei Province, known as Wudang in the south, and the other in Luliang, Shanxi Province, known as Wudang in the north. These two mountains are officially called Wudang Mountain later than our ancient Wudang Mountain. Wudang Mountain in Hubei was called Taihe mountain before and Wudang Mountain after the Ming Dynasty. Wudang Mountain in Shanxi Province was called Longwang mountain before and Wudang Mountain after the Qing Dynasty. And Wudang Mountain occupies an ancient character. According to the temple's ancient stele, "this ancient Wudang Mountain was built from Tang and Song Dynasties to me.". So Wudang Mountain has been called Wudang Mountain since Tang Dynasty at least.

The main peak of the scenic area is 1465 meters above sea level. There are many strange peaks, lush trees and pleasant climate. The north mountain is covered with oak trees, and the south mountain is covered with pine trees. As a National Forest Park, the scenic spot has a complete secondary forest landscape, full of wild interest all year round, which is a rare natural garden. The forest coverage rate here is more than 90%. From midsummer to late autumn, the trees under the mountain cover the sky and block the sun, known as the "natural oxygen bar". How to use the herbs such as Radix Aconiti, Bletillae and Bupleurum? There are also walnuts, chestnuts, peaches, apricots, mulberries, black dates and so on. It is also a paradise for animals, including black stork, a national key protected wild animal, mountain pig, pheasant, squirrel, thrush, hare, etc. The annual average temperature here is 17 degrees and the daily average temperature in summer is 24 degrees. It is a famous cool summer resort. The scenic spot has beautiful scenery all the year round, with plum blossom in February, peach in March, cherry blossom in April, locust in May, mulberry in June, red persimmon in July, walnut in August, chestnut in September, red skin in October and snow at the end of the first year.
